The photograph of Mt. Shuksan from Picture Lake is probably one of the most photographed mountain scenes in the world. Most photographers prefer to capture the scene sometime during the fall, when the sun casts a nice warm glow across the lake and Heather Meadows. I have that shot too. To try something different, I arrived in August when the sun is in a different spot and able to throw the foreground trees into silhouette.
